Goldwyn SEN School, Great Chart, Kent
A new two storey special needs school constructed to resemble a large barn, with cedar shingle roofing to blend in with its surrounding rural location, with a full catering kitchen, associated ancillary spaces and external works, and a separate vocational workshop. Wicksteeds took over QS duties during procurement and were involved in negotiating a reconfigured scheme into a design & build contract, to best suit the School and Education Authority requirements, and taking the scheme through to completion as Employer’s Agent, delivering the project to the agreed time and budget constraints. Services Provided: Employer's Agent, Quantity Surveyor and CDM Consultancy.
Grange Park SEN School, Wrotham, Kent
A new single storey special educational needs school, for 55 pupils and 37 staff, covering a full range of teaching facilities, with a full green roof, catering kitchen and external works, located in an AONB, Green Belt and close to a motorway, with difficult planning and noise issues to overcome. Wicksteeds were involved from feasibility stage, through scheme design development, procurement, contractor design & current construction on site for this project, which has been completed on time and to budget. Services Provided: Employer's Agent, Quantity Surveyor and CDM Consultancy.
Harbour SEN School, Dover, Kent
A new single storey extension and the refurbishment of the existing school, with 22 classrooms overall, teaching & full catering kitchens, a sports hall, IT training, associated ancillary spaces & external works, carried out in 2 phases with temporary accommodation to permit the School to function throughout the works. Wicksteeds took over QS duties at second stage procurement through the finalisation of design development, agreement of contract sum and construction to completion, this project was delivered to the agreed time and budget. Services provided: Quantity Surveyor and CDM Consultancy.
SEN School, ASD Unit, Carshalton
Comprising a 14 classroom teaching block on 4 floors, with teaching kitchens, office, meeting, staff & toilet facilities, with adjustable height sinks & ovens, specialist lifting facilities and a fully automatic ventilation system. From feasibility through designer appointments, funding submissions, design development, procurement, construction & completion, this project was satisfactorily delivered to meet Client expectations. Services provided: Project Manager, Quantity Surveyor and CDM Consultancy.
